On Monday, President Donald Trump ripped into New York City leaders for painting “Black Lives Matter” (BLM) on 5th Avenue while shootings and shooting deaths skyrocket in the city.
Mayor Bill de Blasio approved of the project, and on Thursday helped paint the slogan in front of Trump Tower. It was either the most childish or evil thing any mayor has ever done, because de Blasio was either trying to give Trump the finger outside his signature Trump Tower building, or it was the beginning of the Democratic Party blaming the riots in the city elsewhere on Trump, even though he’s not responsible for anything that goes on in New York. The responsibility falls on NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, but both seem to be blaming the president for things they’re responsible for.
Cuomo just blamed the president for the horrible job the governor did combating the Chinese virus pandemic in the state.
“In one recent week in New York City, this is hard to believe, shootings were up to 358 percent,” Trump said at a White House event showing appreciation for police officers.
“And yet they spend all their time — they want to do Black Lives Matter signs outside of Trump Tower. They ought to spend their time doing something else because I’ll tell you what, 358 percent increase in shootings in New York.”
The president added: “Last month over 300 people were shot. NYPD retirements have quadrupled and they’re going up even further. And New York City is out of control unfortunately — my place, I love it, but it’s out of control. It was doing so well.”
Trump praised former Republican mayor Rudy Giuliani’s record. Giuliani, one of Trump’s attorneys, visited the White House on July 1 and told reporters Black Lives Matter is a “Marxist organization” that was “planning to destroy the police for three years.”
“Rudy Giuliani, whether you like Rudy or not, he did a great job. He was the greatest mayor in the history of New York,” Trump said on Monday.
De Blasio recently approved of a $1.5 billion budget cut to the NYPD. There was no discussion, no commission created to study that ramifications of such a reckless decision. He caved to BLM demands, and that was that. Now, he wants to blame Trump.
Trump noted an increase in violent crime in other cities, including Chicago and Atlanta, and threatened federal intervention.
“Numbers are going to be coming down even if we have to go in and take over cities because we can’t let that happen,” Trump said.
Trump is a law and order president, and though some may not like that, because the term has bad meaning to them, but for the rest of us, what the president is saying is that Democrat leaders in blue cities and states aren’t living up to the oaths they took to protect their people. Trump is saying if mayors and governors are willing to let their residents be harmed physically and economically, then he feels the federal government has an obligation to step in. Don’t be shocked when Democrats then blame Trump for taking too long to step in and solve their problems for them in the same way they’re doing now with the Chinese virus.
Unlike the Democrats, the president understands that crime is an important issue to the American people. Nobody, not even criminals themselves, want to be victims of crime, yet the Democrats have shamelessly dropped the ball in their jurisdictions.
“The radical politicians are waging war on innocent Americans. That’s what you’re doing when you play with police. My administration is pro-safety, pro-police and anti-crime,” Trump said.

“Things are happening that nobody’s ever seen happen in cities that are liberally run — I call them radical lib. And yet, they’ll go and march on areas and rip everything down in front of them. If that’s what you want for a country, you probably have to vote for sleepy Joe Biden because he doesn’t know what’s happening. But you’re not going to have it with me.”
