Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) was mocked on social media for something she tweeted that everyone on the Left has misunderstood. It’s amazing when you watch a herd of people (I would call leftists on Twitter a mob, but a mob usually indicates that there is some semblance of intelligence involved.) run for the cliff, knowing they got a sure thing, only to find out quickly that they missed the entire point and made asses of themselves.
On Wednesday, Blackburn tweeted out, “The Constitution grants us rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness – not abortions.”

The senator is Pro-Life and questioned Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson during her confirmation hearing for a seat on the US Supreme Court about children’s education and abortion.
Leftists smelled blood in the water and jumped all over it because the phrase “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” is not in the Constitution but is in the Declaration of Independence.
Even Newsweek got on that bandwagon:
The problem, as critics quickly informed Blackburn, is that the iconic line she was referencing doesn’t appear anywhere in the U.S. Constitution.
It’s actually from the Declaration of Independence, and something most American children learn in elementary school.
Leftists from every ward of the insane asylum pounced when they thought they had a great chance to trash a Republican senator, especially a Pro-Life Republican senator, and they mocked Blackburn for mixing up America’s founding documents. Others called her ignorant.
One leftist called her a “bag of hair.”

Even a supposed learned man who brags of being “an emeritus scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and a contributing editor for the Atlantic,” fell for the rookie leftist mistake.

And there were scores of other hate-filled leftists who made pretty much the same remarks.
Here’s where they went wrong.
The Declaration of Independence does NOT give us our rights. Our Creator and the Constitution do. Senator Blackburn said, “The Constitution grants us rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” and she was 100% correct.The senator did not say that the Declaration of Independence gives us rights, because she would have been wrong. She said the Constitution does, and liberals mocking her got it wrong.
The liberals saw a shiny object and went for it before thinking, something they do a lot. They thought it was an easy attack on a conservative woman and their responses would make them appear smart.
