Canada is baffled. Biden is looking to totalitarian government for oil, but not oil from them. After all, they are totalitarian, too. And without the cost of oil tankers crossing the ocean. That might be the point. To keep gas prices as high as possible, to make electric cars look better. But most of the parts on an electric car are made with oil and you need to generate a lot of electricity if everyone buys electric cars.
Fox News reported:
“The Biden administration has flirted with lifting oil sanctions on a once-shunned Venezuela to temper surging oil prices, yet it appears unwilling to encourage investment in domestic energy production.”
Since the very day Biden became the Resident of the United States, he has done nothing except to try to shut down domestic production. He certainly isn’t doing it because of climate change because we have the strictest laws governing the production of oil. By turning up the spigots in countries like Iran, Venezuela, and Saudi Arabia, we get more pollution, not less.
Sonya Savage, the energy minister for Alberta, sat down for an interview with Lisa Fletcher of WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C.:
“What did you think when President Biden called on OPEC and other oil drilling nations like Saudi?”
“I thought ‘What?’ ‘We’re right next door. We’re here!’”
“It’s extremely frustrating when we see the United States administration reaching out to Saudi Arabia to ask for more oil production, to ask OPEC for more oil production, to look at Iran, to look at Venezuela when we’re right next door here in Alberta. They should be looking at us as the solution to energy security, not around, not Venezuela.”
The thing is that Canada by themselves can make up the loss of Russian oil easily. And it would take less time to get the oil here. The total cost of the oil and shipping would be cheaper, which Biden does not want. And to top it off, Canada is one of the few countries Biden has not POed. And all Canada asks is that he not send Kamala Harris to their country.
