Do you suppose that Joe Biden thinks he was elected president of Russia? Or does he owe them for helping him win in 2020? After all, the Russians learned early on that they couldn’t walk all over Trump and now it seems they have learned they can walk all over Biden.
Right after taking office Biden canceled the Keystone Pipeline. And now he is lifting sanctions on comp0anies working on the Russian pipeline into Germany.
Strategically this is a huge win for Russia because they will now have their hands around the neck of European countries that can’t afford to have Russia close the spigot on them.
I had a liberal friend of mine try to tell me that Biden was good for the country. That’s true, but we are wondering what country, Russia? China? Iran? The Palestinians? The illegal aliens? When will it be America’s turn?
Axios reported:
“The State Department will also acknowledge that the corporate entity in charge of the project (Nord Stream 2 AG) and its CEO (Putin crony and former East German intelligence officer Matthias Warnig) are engaged in sanctionable activities. However, the State Department will waive the applications of those sanctions, citing U.S. national interests.”
The report said that the Biden administration will instead sanction some Russian ships even though the only way to really stop it is by sanctioning the end users and this won’t be done under the Biden plan. He has angered both parties who have worked together to prevent Russia from gaining leverage with European countries. This wipes out all they have been working for.
Here are just a few of the top initial reactions that the report sparked:
- Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX): “Stunning. In defiance of U.S. law, Biden is actively helping Putin build his pipeline. Objectively speaking, the Biden administration is shaping up to be the most pro-Russia administration of the modern era.”
- Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN): “Biden killed the Keystone Pipeline, but is waiving sanctions on Russia’s Nord Stream II. This coming less than a week after the Colonial Pipeline was hacked. Why does Biden believe American pipelines are bad but Russian pipelines are good?”
- Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL): “If true, President Biden just delivered a huge victory to Vladimir Putin, who will now have a stranglehold over Europe’s natural gas supplies. Then-candidate Biden promised to be tough on Russia, but it is increasingly clear that was just campaign rhetoric. There is absolutely no excuse for giving Putin more leverage over our allies and partners, including Ukraine. It is dangerous, naïve, deceitful, and weak.”
