Brit Hume Delivers Scorching Rebuke of Jan. 6 Committee, Says He’s Never Seen Anything Like This in His 50 Years Covering DC

Recently, Bri Hume of Fox News was commenting on an article written by Byron York titled “The Jan. 6 committee charade.” Hume added his own comments to highlight the story saying:

“I’ve covered Washington for more than 50 years, including 11 years covering Congress specifically. I’ve never seen a committee all of whose members were chosen by one party, and where there is no cross-examination or any attempt to present both sides.”

York had written:

“There’s a long tradition of adversarial process in congressional hearings/investigations. You don’t have to compare it to a trial to know something is wrong with the J6 committee.”

One of the leading Democrats on the committee, Adam Kinzinger attempted a jab at Hume:

“Hey Brit. It’s been all Republicans testifying. Definitely one-sided, just not in how you think it is. And as you well know, Kevin McCarthy took his ball and went home. You all sound nervous.”

First of all, McCarthy did not take his ball, Nancy Pelosi refused to allow him to use it. She refused to let two Republican heavy hitters, Jom Joran and Jim Banks on the committee. She replaced them with Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. That’s like going out for a dinner with lobster and filet mignon and having to settle for peanut butter and mustard sandwiches.

Second of all, the only testimony that has been harmful is that of Cassidy Hutchinson and that turned out to be all lies. A very liberal couple I know was very excited when the committee first formed and they said that Trump would finally get his. I couldn’t resist calling them up to rub it in about all the lies and as it turned out, they were extremely embarrassed over the lies, which they feel will make Trump stronger.

Hume said:

“I’ve never seen anything quite like it in my life, and I certainly never imagined back in the day when I was working for one of the broadcast networks’ news divisions, that such an event would ever be put on primetime television by one of the networks. And in this case, it was done by all of them. Quite remarkable.”

“This is very much a partisan hearing, which is not to say that interesting facts won’t come out and they won’t make an interesting presentation in primetime but, look, this is only partially a hearing to determine the facts. It is as much as anything else an effort to give the Democrats an issue that they can run on when nearly all the other issues that people care about are working against them.”

Rasmussen polling found that the three top issues for voters are gas prices, inflation, and the economy. This next tweet is very telling and explains why Democrats are about to be slaughtered in the next election.
