Kamala Harris snapped at a reporter who suggested that this was her first visit to the border. harris yelled at the reporter that she had been to the border before. That is true but not as the vice president. She went there during the Trump administration when the border was under control. But, that’s like going to Pompeii a year after the volcano and telling the Roman reporters that you had been there before. Before the volcano that is.
On the trip, she went to one of the lesser problem areas. She steered clear of the real trouble spots. Then she did what she does best. maybe not best, let’s just say most frequently. She lied. First, she blamed President Trump for the current crises, even though there was no crisis prior to the Biden/Harris administration take over.
Biden/Harris blames the border crisis on Trump, but there was no crisis during Trump years except when he first took over from Obama/Biden. They blame Trump for inflation, but there was no inflation before they took office. They blame Trump for the high gas prices but the gas price was low until they took over. How many more Biden/harris blunders will they blame on Trump. All of them, of course.
As an example, she claims that it was more important for her to go to Honduras and Mexico, in what experts on both sides of the aisle called laughably unsuccessful visits. She did not do anything or gain any concessions from the trips. This means her trip to the El Paso region rather than the McAllen region makes so much sense. She went for appearances, not for substance.
Harris said:
“Because as I’ve long said, I said back in March I was going to come to the border so this is not a new plan, but the reality of it is we have to deal with the causes and we have to deal with the effects.”
She has dealt with neither.
Harris has given mixed messages on the border, telling reporters during her Northern Triangle tour that she planned to visit border states and view the situation on the ground, largely regarded as a crisis, but not until after she spoke to leaders in Guatemala and Mexico.
“We are going to the border. We’ve been to the border,” she said in an interview with Lester Holt of NBC News earlier this month. When Holt responded, “You haven’t been to the border,” Harris fired back, “And I haven’t been to Europe.”
