The cancel culture pulled out all the stops in their effort to destroy this restaurant, but to no avail. From boycotts to protests to general badmouthing it has just become bigger and more successful. I am talking about Chick-fil-A, the country’s favorite fast-food restaurant. You can tell a Chick-fil-A restaurant by the long lines, often reaching out into the street. They will be adding an express line where you can order on your phone and bypass the regular line.
The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) released this year’s ranking. Cracker Barrel and TGI Friday’s tied for second place and three restaurants tied for third, Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, and Red Robin.
TGI Friday’s is an interesting story. The founder, Alan Stillman was a successful businessman who had trouble meeting women and he decided to open a bar in order to improve his luck. And now there are thousands of his restaurants all across the country.
Dan Cathy, the former CEO of Chick-fil-A ran afoul of the gay community because of his religious beliefs and they tried everything to ruin him. They had a day when everyone was supposed to boycott their restaurants, but many people went out and bought it just out of spite and to show their support. People tried it and found out how delicious it was and they were hooked. The boycott actually made them a giant in the industry. The chain has kept it’s religious beliefs and they still refuse to open on Sunday.
“The large group of smaller full-service restaurants experiences substantial deterioration in mobile app quality, contributing to a steep decline for the industry overall, which tumbles 8% to 78,” says Forrest Morgeson, Assistant Professor of Marketing at Michigan State University and Director of Research Emeritus at the ACSI.
“Amid the pandemic, restaurants needed to quickly up their game in the mobile arena. With fewer resources, smaller chains and independent restaurants are offering apps that aren’t making the grade per customers. In contrast, positive shifts in both mobile app quality and reliability for several larger chains appear to reflect major app updates for these bigger industry players,” he added.
Chick-fil-A’s statement to Fox News Digital was quick to thank its customers for the honor.
“We are honored by the results of this survey and we are grateful to our customers for choosing Chick-fil-A – it’s truly our pleasure to serve them,” the statement read.
