President Joe Biden appeared to get agitated as Peter Doocy of Fox News challenged him on whether he is accepting responsibility for the mess in Afghanistan, he created when he pulled troops out of that country before evacuating Americans and Afghan allies. It was so brutal that you could accuse Doocy of abusing the mentally incapacitated. This was especially important after the death of a dozen of our military were killed by ISIS K bombings.
Biden held a moment of silence for the servicemen during the briefing. Either that or he was waiting for them to tune in the earpiece he was wearing, so he would know what to say. He then promised a military attack against those responsible. I don’t think he will because the Taliban will tell him he can’t and he is a very obedient puppet.
After the briefing, Doocy asked Biden if he took full responsibility for the killings. Biden, of course, blamed Trump and then Doocy reminded Biden that Trump is no longer president.
“Mr. President, there had not been a U.S. service member killed in combat in Afghanistan since February of 2020. You set a deadline, you pulled troops out, you sent troops back in, and now 12 Marines are dead.”
“You said the buck stops with you. Do you bear any responsibility for the way things have unfolded in the last two weeks?”
“I bear responsibility fundamentally for all that has happened of late.”
“But here’s the deal. You know, I wish you someday would say these things, you know as well as I do, that the former president made a deal with the Taliban that he would get all American forces out of Afghanistan by May 1.”
“In return, he was given a commitment that the Taliban would continue to attack others, but would not attack any American forces. Do you remember that? I’m being serious. I’m asking you a question.”
But, what Biden doesn’t say that pulling out of Afghanistan isn’t the problem, it’s the way he did it that is completely mental. You pull out all of the troops protecting Americans and then evacuate. President Trump would have kept the troops there until the evacuation was done and he would never have trusted the Taliban to do what they promised.
“Imagine where we’d be if I had indicated on May the 1st I was not going to renegotiate an evacuation date. We were gonna stay there. I’d have only one alternative: Pour thousands of more troops back into Afghanistan to fight a war that we had already won relative to why the reason we went in the first place.”
“I have never been of the view that we should be sacrificing American lives to try to establish a Democratic government in Afghanistan, a country that has never once in its entire history been a united country, and is made up, and I don’t mean this in a derogatory, made up of different tribes who have never ever ever gotten along with one another.”
None of that has anything to do with the price of rice in China. He messed up badly and that is no one’s fault but his own.
