The writing is on the wall for Stacey Abrams and she knows it. She is on her way to an election defeat even bigger than the one she lost by 55,000 votes in 2018. She is making her excuses now, despite the fact that there was a huge increase in people voting in person. The increase over the last midterm election is 189%, but Abrams claims that they are all white and that Blacks are being suppressed by the new Georgia voting laws.
Georgia is 50.1% white and 30.5% Black according to the 2020 census. It is literally impossible for the entire or even most of the increase not to include Blacks. But, maybe she doesn’t mind losing. After all, she was deep in debt before the last election and she is now worth over $3 million dollars and owns two houses. She could do even better if she can convince the brainless that she lost due to voter suppression and let’s face it, the Democratic party does not lack for morons.
She has already angered voters by saying that Georgia is one of the worst states to live in despite the increased population of people fleeing from states ruled by Democrats. Even though the population has increased, the breakdown of whites and Blacks is almost identical to what it was in the 2010 census. And even if it were true, people do not like politicians who run their states down. Abrams has consistently polled 5% worse than Kemp throughout the year. Even the Republicans’ second choice who lost by a wide margin was beating her.
According to MSNBC, early voter turnout in Georgia’s recent primary election cycle increased by over 200%, but Abrams is still claiming voter suppression could keep her from attaining office.
Fox News reported that while she was speaking with Joy Reid on MSNBC’s “The Reid Out,” Abrams claimed that there was “no correlation” between record-high voter turnout and less voter suppression. Abrams argued that suggesting this was akin to saying “if more people are in the water there are fewer sharks.”
Dismissing the theory that more voter turnout equaled less voter suppression, Abrams said, “There’sre’s no correlation there. Voter suppression is about blocking or impeding certain types of voters from participating in elections.”
Take it easy, Stacey. It is over 5 months till the election. You still have plenty of time to concoct reasons why you are going to lose.
