The Biden Effect: Republicans Now Have Huge Leads in 6 Major Issues Heading into the Midterms

The poll numbers in themselves are a real shocker, but it is an even bigger shock when you realize that the poll is from NBC and they always weigh their polls in the favor of Democrats. But, on 6 major issues, Republicans lead and it’s not even close. These numbers must have Democrats quaking their boots, especially those who face reelection this year.

The first issue is border security. It should come as no shock that Republicans lead by 27 points on this issue after 9 and 1/2 months of Joe Biden’s open borders. The border is a mess and Republicans are a cinch to pick up some border districts from Democrats in 2022. The taxpayers are paying a heavy price for open borders and every day Joe Biden finds a way to make the crisis worse.

Next is inflation and the Republicans lead by a whopping 24 points. Pocketbook issues are always a motivator for people when they vote and if Biden gets the additional $3 trillion-plus in spending, inflation could get much worse. Just the price of gas and the heating of homes will be a huge motivator for voters to go Republican.

Voters favor Republicans on crime mainly due to Democrats defunding the police that has driven the crime rate to dizzying heights. People like to feel safe and they don’t anymore. Police officers are being let go or resigning in huge numbers and no one wants the job anymore. At least in blue cities and states.

National security has become a huge issue after Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan and Republicans lead by 21 points.

Republicans lead on the economy by 18 points. That should be 58 points, but we’ll take it.

And being effective and getting things done (13 points).

Democrats were ahead of Republicans on climate change (24 points), the coronavirus (12 points) and abortion (by 10 points). These double-digit leads, however, turned out to be slimmer than during the 2020 presidential election, according to NBC News. 

The poll was conducted Oct. 23-26, and its margin of error is ± 3.1 percentage points.

“Just 22 percent of adults say we’re headed in the right direction,” NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd said Sunday, relaying the results of the survey. “A shocking 71 percent say we’re on the wrong track, and that includes a near majority of Democrats who are saying that.”

“President Biden’s approval rating stands at a dismal 42% versus 54% who disapprove. Believe it or not, just two months ago Mr. Biden was in positive territory,” the host continued, noting that the numbers precipitously fell from there.
