Violence broke out at several Juneteenth celebrations across the United States. In Raleigh, N.C. an EMS worker answered a call for a child who needed medical assistance, and while on his way back to the ambulance, he was shot as was the ambulance. The EMS worker is in good condition and should make a full recovery. The shooter and his or her motives have not yet been discovered.
In Flint, Michigan, state police are investigating an officer-involved shooting, when an officer was directing traffic and a car pulled up beside him and opened fire.
The officer pulled his gun and killed the drive, a nineteen-year-old girl. No motive for that shooting has been determined as of yet. But, it would not surprise me if it was an intentional assassination attempt by one of the groups who have been attacking police officers for the past year. The officer was not hit.
