Jen Osaki played a good little soldier when a reporter asked her about the quid pro Joe offer Biden made to the Afghan president Ashraf Ghani, the now recently deposed ruler of Afghanistan. She said that she refused to talk about a private conversation in which Joe Biden asked Ghani to lie about how fast the Taliban was taking over the country. It would have helped him deflect some of the blame for his truly disastrous operation in that country.
But, you know, it’s funny. Donald Trump had a perfectly legal conversation with the president of Ukraine and he was impeached for it even though there was no quid pro quo. So, will the same Democrats who tried to impeach President Trump, who didn’t break any moral or criminal laws now impeach Joe Biden who did offer a quid pro quo deal to Afghani? Don’t bet the rent on it. They do not kick a member of their party in the butt for doing something reprehensible.
On Tuesday, Reuters obtained leaked transcripts of Biden’s 14-minute, July 23rd call with Ashraf Ghani. Reuters obtained the transcripts and audio of Biden’s last phone call to Ghani. The Deep State is turning on Biden and looking to replace him with Kamala “The Cackler” Harris. They probably think they can control her and she would be less of an embarrassment.
Biden offered Ghani military support if he would downplay (in re …LIE) about the gains made by the Taliban. But, Ghani refused to play along and my guess is he didn’t trust Biden to keep his word, and can you blame him?
“I need not tell you the perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things are not going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban. And there is a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture.”
Biden told Ghani that if Afghanistan’s prominent political figures were to give a press conference together, backing a new military strategy, “that will change perception, and that will change an awful lot I think.” – Reuters added.
Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich asked Psaki about the leaked transcript and audio to Reuters.
“It’s pretty clear…I’m not going to go into details of a private conversation,” Psaki said.
All of a sudden “private” conversations a US president has with a foreign head of state isn’t fair game.
Trump was impeached after a fully lawful, private conversation he had with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky was leaked to the media.
After more Psaki word salad, @JacquiHeinrich returned to the Biden/Ghani call: "Was the President in any way pushing a false narrative in that call with the Afghan president?
